Privacy Policy

Walkimon is made by Monitor My IoT, the parent company that holds the game. For anything in this policy — including deleting your account — contact us at [email protected] or through the contact form.

For UK GDPR purposes, Monitor My IoT is the data controller for Walkimon.

Only what the game needs to work. Nothing is collected for advertising or resale.

• ·Your account — your email address, the display name you choose, an optional username, and your password (stored only as a secure hash; we can never read it). We need a working email to verify your account, let you reset a password, and reply when you contact us. Your email address is verified, so your account is linked to it.
• ·Your steps, workouts and sleep — read from Apple Health or Health Connect, only if you grant permission. This is the whole point of Walkimon: your movement feeds your pet, and your sleep lets it rest. See below.
• ·Your pet — its name, its statistics, what it has done, and the messages it sends you.
• ·A notification token — only if you turn notifications on, so your pet can tell you it needs you.
• ·Anything you send us — messages via support or the contact form, and the email address you send them from.

To be specific, because vagueness here is how policies mislead:

• ·Your real name or address. We never ask, and we don’t check that the display name you pick is real. Call yourself anything.
• ·Your location. Walkimon does not collect or store your location.
• ·No advertising identifiers, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. There is no advertising or analytics software in Walkimon at all.
• ·No contacts, photos, microphone or camera.

This is the most personal thing Walkimon touches, so it gets its own rules:

• ·We read steps, workouts and sleep — nothing else from Apple Health or Health Connect.
• ·We only read it after you grant permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in your phone’s settings. Walkimon keeps working; your pet just stops being fed by your movement.
• ·We use it for one purpose: running your pet’s simulation (feeding it, resting it, and awarding revives at 10,000 steps).
• ·It is never used for advertising, and never sold or shared. We never write anything back to Apple Health or Health Connect.

We don’t share your data with anyone for their own purposes, and nothing from Walkimon is shared with Monitor My Solar, Tradesheets, or any other Monitor My IoT product. Walkimon’s data stays in Walkimon.

To run the game at all we rely on a few service providers, who act only on our instructions and may not use your data for anything of their own:

• ·Anthropic — your pet’s dialogue is written by Claude. We send it your pet’s name and its simulated statistics, and nothing else: not your email, not your name, not any way of identifying you.
• ·Postmark — sends our emails, so it receives your email address.
• ·Apple and Google — deliver push notifications to your device, if you enable them.
• ·Cloudflare — carries traffic to our servers and keeps them standing up.

We may also disclose data if the law actually requires it of us.

Your data is stored on our own servers in the United Kingdom. We keep it for as long as you have an account. Delete your account and it goes — see below.

You can have your account deleted at any time, for any reason, without giving one. Use the contact form and choose Delete my account, or email [email protected] from the address your account uses.

We’ll action it within 30 days. We may first ask you to confirm from your account’s email address — otherwise anyone could delete anyone else’s pet just by knowing their address.

Deleting removes your account, your pets and their history, your health-derived step and sleep figures, your notification token, and your messages to us. It is permanent and your pets cannot be brought back.

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Ask at [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you think we’ve got it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Walkimon is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us at [email protected] and we’ll remove it.

If we change what we collect or who processes it, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Walkimon is in active development; when the game starts doing something new with your data, this page will say so before it does.
